What we can learn from Criticism
"The final proof of greatness lies in being able to endure criticism without resentment." --Elbert Hubbard
A lot of aspiring entrepreneurs make this mistake of keeping their plans to themselves, because they are either scared of criticism or they are scared that if they share it, they may not achieve it.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you're going into business, you have to engage your customers, talk about your business like your life depends on it, put it out there on their faces.
Criticism? It can only make you see the underbellies that you eyes couldn't capture as you were planning and it gives you more insight. But learn to filter which criticism to take in and which one to throw away.
Most of your most admired entrepreneurs put their plans out there to be criticized, Elon Musk is an example. By the criticism he was given when working on one of the models of Tesla, he shape-shifted and made it better, look at them disrupting the market today. Late Steve Jobs did it too.
The moral here is, never be scared to talk about your plans, as speaking out is also part of creating your reality.
"We need very strong ears to hear ourselves judged frankly, and because there are few who can endure frank criticism without being stung by it, those who venture to criticize us perform a remarkable act of friendship, for to undertake to wound or offend a man for his own good is to have a healthy love for him." --Michel de Montaigne.
